Diplomats and Disruptors
At Kairos, we are asked to speak at events from time to time, mostly centering around innovation and the Miami Startup scene.
Yesterday I was asked to speak at a different and special event. The U.S. State Department shuttled down 38 ambassadors to the US from countries all around the globe. They came to Miami to better understand the growth of our city and the growth of the startup scene.
Building New Relationships
It was an excellent and wide ranging conversation covering venture capital, cultivating angel investors, raising money outside of Silicon Valley, as well as the role that the arts and entrepreneurial activity play together.
What excites me most, is not the talking that I did, but the listening to the excitement from the ambassadors. Several came to me after the event and are excited about hosting Kairos in their countries. They want to light a spark in the entrepreneurial spirit in their communities. I can't wait to visit and do what I can to help.
This is why we do the work. This is how we move the needle. This is how we will make a dent in the universe.
