Those two words sum up who and what Kairos is. Two simple words. Clear meaning. Strong mental imagery. It all seems so simple, yet it took us two years to find these words.
We launched the company less than three years ago with one idea: To make more elegant enterprise software. My experience at the time was in HR software, so I stuck with my expertise and our first product was an elegantly designed timeclock. Our customers loved it. They raved about it's simplicity and design. It's challenge was, there was no validation that the person clocking in was the employee.
The front facing camera had just started to be released on Apple mobile products. We thought - "Maybe we can do facial recognition?"
That correlation sparked a market leader.
Over the next 2 years we iterated and iterated and iterated. We absorbed everything there was to know about facial recognition. We partnered with some of best minds in the world. We obsessed with doing it better than anyone else.
And we soon learned facial recognition is not easy. It's not web friendly, it not as reliable as we would like, it's not secure, and it doesn't scale.
By solving all those problems, we had the beginnings of a company. We had forged Kairos.
Amazing investors supported us, contributing over 1.7 million dollars into the company. We have been able to enhance our team, continue iterating and innovating.
There have been a ton of ups and downs over these years - it takes some time to understand yourself, and the markets you find yourself in. That's an elusive term the experts call 'product-market-fit'.
We believe we have now reached that point, and are ready to turn it up a gear.
So, where are we focusing today?
- We offer consulting services, so that people can create great products with our technology.
- We partner with the biggest names in the industry, standing on the shoulders of giants.
- We enable facial recognition in payments, healthcare, online learning, employment, audience measurement. Even online dating.
- We help organizations understand people, and solve real problems while doing so.
It's an exciting chapter in our story. Over the coming months you will hear more about our rapid growth and international expansion. Now that we know what the market wants, we intend to give it to the people.
